Have you heard that the Appleton Police Department has a new program called Project Safe Response?

If you have a loved one that has dementia and lives in Appleton, they can be registered in the new program.  The basic information you provide will help first responders understand how to best respond to a crisis call. Maybe your loved one has communication barriers or has a tendency to wander, but with this new program, first responders will be able to better understand the history and positive response methods for individuals who are registered.

Print or pick up the registration forms at the Appleton Police Department, Fox Valley Memory Project, or the Outagamie County ADRC, and fill them out. Once completed, call Sgt. Carrie Peters at the Appleton Police Department to set up a meeting. Remember to bring your completed forms to that meeting!

This is a great opportunity to utilize a community resource to help keep your loved one that has dementia safe.
