National Sandwich Month – We’re talking sandwiches in all their forms. Bring your favorite “recipe” or secret ingredient to share with the group. We’ll be learning about this most popular food that has been a favorite for hundreds of years.

Sweet Summer Sing-A-Long. Songs and music can transport us in a moment. Music opens our hearts, our joy, and our memories. Come savor reminiscent tunes and homemade pies.
Kaukauna

Happy American Adventures Month! Come and join us for some travelling in your chair to various American destinations! If you have some favorite souvenirs or collections from trips you have taken in the USA, bring them to “show and tell” us about it!

Kimberly
Kimberly Municipal Complex 515 W Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly Wednesday, August 25 – 1:30 – 3:00p
“Ice Cream Social and Ukelele Sing-along” John McFadden will lead us in song. We’ll pass the time with engaging activities around the theme of Wisconsin’s favorite dairy treat – ice cream! We’ll be serving up a sundae bar with ice cream and choose-your-own fixings to coordinate with stories and games.
New London
Mosquito Hill Nature Center N3380 Rogers Road, New London Wednesday, August 11 – 1:30 – 3:00p
Our prairie will be bursting in pre-fall blooms and grasses! We will welcome Kelly, a Master Gardener, to talk to us about all the benefits of native plants. Not only are they beautiful, but they benefit our environment so much. Join us as we celebrate the end of summer beauty as we learn, laugh, and enjoy each others’ company.

For our second café at the New London Senior Center, we will have a surprise musical guest!
Oshkosh
Oshkosh YMCA, 3303 W 20th Ave, Oshkosh August 30 – 1:30 – 3:00p
From lowering stress hormones to increasing the feel good endorphins, studies have shown that laughing can help improve a person’s health. Join special guest Joanne Murphy-Spice from the Winnebago County Health Department for our very own Laughter Yoga practice! Laughter Yoga starts out as breathing, clapping, and fake laughing and ends with everyone smiling and laughing.

Let’s go cloud gazing! When we gaze up at the clouds we often see patterns and images that resemble something from our memories. We will discuss the different types of clouds and view images of clouds to see what we see. Feel free to bring photos of impressive cloud formations you have witnessed.
Virtual Café – Wednesday, August 18 – 1:30 – 2:30p
Build your own Zen garden! We’ll deliver the supplies to your home to create your own miniature sized sand & rock box. These Zen gardens are great for developing mindfulness and relaxation. Email Harper or call 920-225-1711 to register for delivery by Monday August 16

Let’s focus on Wellness this month! Carrie Esselman will have an afternoon of relaxation prepared to help us focus on taking good care of ourselves.
