Fox Valley Memory Project receives $20,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Trust to support programs for people living with dementia and their caregivers across the Fox Valley region

 

Fox Valley Memory Project (FVMP) is proud to announce that Otto Bremer Trust has awarded $20,000 to support programs that serve people living with dementia and their caregivers in Calumet, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Winnebago counties. Fox Valley Memory Project collaborates with other organizations to build communities that welcome, include, and support persons with dementia and those who care for them.

 

This grant which will support the expansion of existing programs like Memory Cafés, Mindworks Classes, respite opportunities for caregivers, support groups, and new social outings. “The demand for support coming out of the pandemic continues to increase for more than 8,500 families in the greater Fox Valley who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other dementia. This grant will help these families through the challenges of the dementia journey,” said Mike Rohrkaste, Executive Director.

 

FVMP also provides other programs and services, including a dementia chorus called On a Positive Note, community education and training, and resource navigation.  Our partnerships with numerous organizations including county Aging and Disability Resource Centers, public libraries, Mosaic Family Health’s REACH program, the YMCAs, police departments and more are helping to create a dementia-friendly Fox Valley.
